The Lisle Library's renovation project began on September 4, 2007.  The Audio Visual and the Fiction section were the second phase of the project.  The AV room doors are removed in preparation for demolition The Reader's Advisors moved to Meeting Room B, recently vacated by the Youth Services staff. Demolition began by removing the doors. The wall would be next to go.
AV with no shelves or desk The fiction collection was draped in plastic. A plastic barrier was hung along AV to keep dust and debris out of the library. The effect of this was a plastic "tunnel" leading to the circulation desk. Walls draped in plastic
The area-defining arches are framed out. Arches were built to define the AV area and a soffit was added over the area where the new service desk will be located. The soffit is painted brick red to emphasize the importance of the area. The walls are painted sage green. The arches are drywalled.

Carpeting added tot he Fiction section The carpet goes in. In the corner, near the elevator, the new service desk appears. The print collection is re-located along the west wall. The shelves and the collection come back. On January 29th, 2008 AV was ready for patrons. Carpeting begins in the AV section
