Author Crush

My author crush this month is the lovely Huntley Fitzpatrick. I’ve had her on my mind recently because we just ordered her latest book, The Boy Most Likely To, for our Teen collection. I was a huge fan of My Life Next Door (check out that link for the My Life Next Door playlist!) and What I Thought Was True, so I’m absolutely delighted Ms. Fitzpatrick will soon have another title available!

Huntley Fitzpatrick writes character-driven, realistic fiction set in coastal New England. Her books make for AWESOME summer reads with her lush descriptions of the beach- although I also enjoy them in the winter months when I’m longing for warmer weather! Side note- Ms. Fitzpatrick has a great Pinterest Board called “By the Water” that might help you visualize the settings of her stories.  I like to suggest Huntley Fitzpatrick to readers who also enjoy Sarah Dessen, Stephanie Perkins, and Morgan Matson.

Her new book The Boy Most Likely To is actually a companion novel to her debut- My Life Next Door. So you may want to pick up that title first to have a richer reading experience, although I think the story lines are separate enough that this isn’t a necessity.
