Ghostly talk of a Ghost ship

I must say I was surprised...this book got positive review all around. Just goes to show. And it was, in a lot of ways because the author did not interject his own views/opinions on how, and why all those aboard the Mary Celeste disappeared. What the reader gets is a chronology, and a history of the ship and her owners, and how tragedy and misfortune seemed to dog each one.  No doubt that the story penned by Arthur Conan Doyle helped the mystery along. The book also includes just the right amount of historical information about the world in which these people lived, and what was going on. It was a hard life being a sailor, and a more superstitious and loyal group of men was hard to find. But the myths and suppositions grew, until the Mary Celeste was shrouded in more mystery than San Francisco is shrouded in fog. I won’t give away the ending, but it fits.
