The Piasa Bird has been displayed in the Library since 1987, when the Illini Needlers Guild gifted the three-piece needlework project to the Lisle Library District.
35 women worked on this piece for a total of almost 3000 stitching hours! Its completion took twenty-five months.
The Piasa Bird is displayed on the north wall on the second level of Library. A commemorative plaque hangs nearby.
