Volunteer to help adults learn English

You can make a difference in someone’s life by volunteering to help foreign language adult speakers learn English, or work with adults who have basic reading and writing skill-building needs.

Literacy DuPage offers tutor training classes at various libraries and matches certified tutors with adult learners. Go to www.literacydupage.org for more information.

People's Resource Center, with locations in Wheaton and Westmont, helps residents of DuPage County with basic needs. Volunteers can participate by tutoring those who need assistance with English language skills, and by assisting with the food pantry, computer training, or helping with job searching. Contact the PRC at www.peoplesrc.org for more information.
